Information on the internet is publicly accessible worldwide. Information can be found using a search engine and can be linked with other information, from which a personality profile of the individual may be created in some circumstances. Information uploaded to the internet, including photographs, can easily be copied and redistributed, or archived by specialised archiving services, aiming to permanently document the condition of certain websites at specific times. As a result, information published on the internet may still be found elsewhere despite its erasure on the website of origin.
Because you are participating in the event "Hannover PreMoot 2020" at Faculty of Law at Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover (hereinafter "the Faculty of Law"), we wish to inform you that protection of your personal data is of the utmost importance to us.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Lower Saxony Data Protection Act (NDSG) are the legal basis for the protection of data at the Faculty of Law's events. In accordance with Article 13 (1) and (2) GDPR, upon receipt of documents we must inform participants of the type of data that we collect: The Faculty of Law is responsible for the collection of data - in this case shooting photos and video footage - regarding the event and is therefore the data controller according to data protection regulations.
We collect and process the photos und video footage in order to document the event for the purpose of the Faculty of Law public relations. The legal basis for portraits is Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR, in conjunction with Article 7 GDPR and for photos und video footage in order to document the event Article 6 (1) (e), (3) GDPR, § 3 NDSG, § 3 Nr. 10 NHG.
The photos und video footage will be published on the Faculty of Law's website (www.jura.uni-hannover.de) and the appearances in social media networks such as facebook and instagram of the Faculty of Law (www.facebook.com/jurahannover, www.instagram.com/jurahannover). Furthermore the footage will be published on the PreMoot-Website (www.premoot.uni-hannover.de) and the PreMoot-Facebook-Page (www.facebook.com/PreMoot) which are both administrated by Faculty of Law .
Photos und video footage that won't be used will be stored up to 6 months after the event. Then, the data will be erased.
Photos that were provided by the participants for the use in the PreMoot Facebook beforehand will only be used for the latter. This Facebook will be published in a printed form as well as digitally on the Faculty of Law's website (www.jura.uni-hannover.de) and the PreMoot-Website (www.premoot.uni-hannover.de).
You have the right to be informed of personal data relating to you, as well as the right to rectification or erasure of data or restriction of processing thereof. Furthermore, you have the right to object to processing and the right to possible data transfer. You also have the right to register a complaint with the regulatory authority, if you are of the opinion that the processing of personal data relating to you does not comply with the legal provisions. In this respect, the Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony is the responsible regulatory authority.
If it is intended to process your personal data for another purpose, the relevant institution will provide you with information on this other purpose and all other important information prior to such further processing.
